I promised you last night to tell you all about the event I went to yesterday so here we go!
Yesterday afternoon I went to 'Gesponnen suiker', in english; Cotton Candy, which is one of the cutest store's I've ever been to in Amsterdam and owned by the sweetest couple I've ever met! Anouk, the women behind the store (bottom right photo) started the store in 2009 and because it was doing so well, moved it to Amsterdam where she became even more successful. As you can tell from the pictures, everything is so colorful, sweet and happy looking and once you're there, you just want to have everything! haha! It was an incredible day and super super busy in the store! Instead of having a red carpet they had a pink one and everything was decorated with pink balloons, pink donuts and even pink sushi! How awesome is that?!
For me it was the first time going to this store, but it definitely won't be my last!
On a more serious note, the reason why they organized this event;
The organized a huge sale to raise money for the Free a Girl Foundation which is a foundation dedicated to freeing young girls from forced prostitution and prosecuting the offenders. They kicked off an online auction on the Gesponnen Suiker website with clothes donated by Dutch bloggers and fashion designers (top right photo). All the money they raise with the sale in the store and the auction, will be going to Free a girl. The auction will be running till feb. 17th and there are lots items available! If you wanna have a look at some unique pieces from the auction you can find them here and if you want to know more about the free a girl foundation you can find them here
What a weekend! So much fun, inspiring and I'm fully charged to give it my all this week!
